Hardcover and paperback books may be slowly giving way to e-readers and tablets, but there still is the universal agreement that a physical book feels so good to hold. The good news is, kids still love paper books. They love puppies to. The combination creates a match made in heaven. Back in 2001 Publisher’s Weekly created a list of the all-time best selling children’s dog books.
Here are the first 10:
- The Pokey Little Puppy, 1942
- Where the Red Fern Grows, 1973
- The Incredible Journey, 1984
- Fox in Socks, 1965
- Go, Dog. Go!, 1961
- Stone Fox, 1983
- Sounder, 1972
- Just Me and My Puppy, 1985
- 101 Dalmatians, 1976
- Clifford the Big Red Dog, 1985
Now go grab a cup of coffee, one of these classic titles, and get a little nostalgic!
Happy reading – the old fashion way.
